Course Description and Objectives

The course educates workers in the potential hazards of working from heights and how to eliminate or control the hazards. OSHA’s fall protection requirements are discussed and how they apply to construction work.

Course Content

• Introduction to fall protection
• The seriousness of falls including and understanding of how falls occur, the potential results, and the anatomy of a fall
• OSHA’s fall protection standards
• Planning for fall protection utilizing the Hierarchy of Fall Protection
• The use of personal fall systems in both fall arrest and fall restraint applications, including inspection, care and use of body harnesses, connecting devices, and anchors

Comprehension/Evaluation

• A final exam with a score of at least 70% required to pass the class
• Training time with exam- 35 minutes
